Your doctor may instruct you to use Symbicort in one of the following ways. Select your type of asthma to find out more.

Infrequent symptoms

Mild Asthma

Use Symbicort as your reliever when needed, for fast relief of symptoms starting in 1-3 minutes. Plus you'll also be helping to prevent future attacks.

Symbicort is recommended to be used as an anti-inflammatory RELIEVER for people with mild asthma.

More frequent symptoms

Moderate to Severe Asthma

If you use Symbicort everyday as your preventer inhaler, you can also use it ‘as-needed’ for your reliever inhaler for fast relief of symptoms starting in 1-3 minutes, without you having to carry a separate reliever.

Preventer + reliever in one, no extra inhaler.
